There is a lot of stereotypes about other nations. Do you find some of them still in use in Your countries?

For example here in Poland Russians are hard vodka drinkers, but germans thinks the same about Poles. Hungarians are our close friends according to tradition. Americans are stupid and they women are ugly (the same Germans and UK - about women). Fins are cold like all nordic nations, Italians are hot stallions etc.
Do you think it is true?

Poles are the one and only friends for us as for the stereotype. German men are disgusting as tourists, Russians are fierce, emotionless people, Americans are very stupid, cannot even place their own country on the globe, French are conceited, Romanians, Slovakians, Serbians are idiot, nationalistic, agressive Slavic - da, Romanians too - people.
At least that is how we think about them I love you

The Romanian and the Hungarian are having a chat...:

-Be-bee, we got Transylvania and you don'T tongue - says the Romanian
- Yeah, indeed.
- Be-bee, we got a seaside beach and you don't tongue
- Yeah, right.
- Be-bee, we got a lot of mountains and, and you don't tongue
- Indeed. But you know what? Now I go and have something to eat... Wink

I think finnish are nice people, since I talked to not a one, never met a rude one. geek

Ukrainish - rude nationalists, western Ukrainish kinda nicer.
Hungarians - Firends of Poles. - Often I see it's true.
Romanians - Rude, discusting stealing people.
Germans - Racist, ugly people, enemies.
English - Arrogant people wich don't belong to the prettiest, they love tea.
French - Frog and snaileaters.
Czech's - Greedy towards Poles.
Scottish - Avaricious.

From my experience mostly it isn't true, or partially true. As always ''the truth lies on the middle''.

I don't know where did you heard that? This is illogical, nationalist stronghold in Ukraine is in western Ukraine (Lviv, Ivano-Frankovsk). Eastern Ukrainians have no problems with Russians, they like them and they are neutral to us Poles. Anti-Russian incidents in western Ukraine happens from time to time, I never heard about such in eastern part.

Such a negative way of thinking, not awful but difficult. By the way, German language is pretty unpleasant to listen for a Pole I think. German songs and bands are for sadomasochists Smile Czech or Slovak songs are like cabaret, such a feeling that they speak Polish very badly and using very funny words (like little children) from the perspective of Polish grammar.

But it must be really interesting! Ahh, what a pity we have no similar language.

i come to visit my babushka everyday, and my babushka is half russian and half ukraine, and the lady who babysits my babushka, and is like a ukraine nationalist.. asked me "do you call yourself Ukraine or Russian?" and i'm like "when i introduce myself, i say i am American- Ukraine- Russian" and like yeah, but.. she kept saying how terrible Russia is and stuff.. this other Ukraine woman who was born in Lviv was very nice.. she liked russians and accepted everyone >.>

stereotypes in USA... well they don't really use stereotypes of Nations, only that Russians are vodka drinking communists.. and that Canadians are stupid, and Mexicans are dirty.. but everyone else is treated well. beacuse 40% of Americans have Polish ancestry and the other 40% Chaldean.. and like yeah.. but thats only around the area i live in...

I could write a lot of comment here. Smile But I won't.

Sorry, maybe I am alone here with this but I don not talk or understand any Slavic language. Who do you mean on Babushka? I have already heard this word, but don't know the exact meaning. Have guesses but rather not write anything here.

With the Dutch is pretty sad story, during the communist era in Poland asked about Netherlands people talked about tulips and windmills and now... drugs, homosexuals and recently also about the only country with "pedophile" political party pale Specific fame is that Surprised

Finns perhaps with the mask of Janne Ahonen Smile

Italians, Czechs and French are also cowards.

I write down things i first rememberd

Latvians - we call them "six toes" We just can't forgive they fight along with Teutonic Order againt Estonians Smile ok it's a joke. Of course I like them. Our history is very similar. But still, wtf with this "s" at the end of every name elephant And they are still six toes and sprat thiefs.

Finns - we used to call them reindeers, but it's not common any more . They have Nokia, Mika Häkkinen and they invented nordic walking Smile They like to come to Tallinn and drink like hell, but they had (still have i hope) this suomen sisu.

Russians - There are lot of them in Estonia, so they are our closest neighbors. Drinking and wife beating is not just a hobby, it's a sport Twisted Evil There is a joke -> So young and already a Russian Smile There is always at least 1 russian who asks a cigarette when you are waiting for a bus.
I'm really sad, that they killed czar Nikolai II

Swedes - we call them Svenssons Smile Well they have nice royalty and king Karl XVI Gustav found Tartu University in 1632. The time, when Estonia was under Swedish rule is called Good Swedish Time.

Norwegians - they like cross country skiing even more than us, and they have Statoil. thats all, oh and Petter Solberg too. Finland and Sweden are good in hockey, Norway isn't

Lithuanians - biggest difference is of course that unlike estonians and latvians they are Catholics and belive in God Smile And they have Arvidas Sabonis and other good basketball players. And they repair and sell cheap junk cars.

Poles - Well they have Adam Malysz and great athletics relay teams despite they haven't superstar sprinters. There was time, when it was better to drive through Scandinavia when you bought used car at Germany, because of the polish mafia. So we still a bit afraid to drive there Smile And every polack has fiat 126

Germans - They have teached us the famous german accuracy and unlike our neighbour in east, they don't behive like former masters. To far away to know them better.

Hungarians - I'm sorry to say, but we don't hear much from them Sad We had Ikarus busses, Globus green peas and captain Tenkesh in TV but not any more.

don't know anything about ukrainians nor belarussians and others are just geographicaly far.
