Germany started the war. It was german soldiers who came to russia to conquer it. And you know that perfectly.
Actually, even tho the Germans invaded first, SU was allied with them and Europe was already divided among them according to the Molotov-Ribbendrop pact.

From Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Molotov-Ribbentrop_Pact)

The Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact, also known as the Hitler-Stalin Pact or German-Soviet Non-aggression Pact or Nazi-Soviet Pact and formally known as the Treaty of Non-aggression between Germany and the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, was a non-aggression treaty between the German Third Reich and the Soviet Union. It was signed in Moscow on August 23, 1939, by the Soviet foreign minister Vyacheslav Molotov and the German foreign minister Joachim von Ribbentrop.

Although officially labeled a "non-aggression treaty", the pact included a secret protocol, in which the independent countries of Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and Romania were divided into spheres of interest of the parties. The secret protocol explicitly assumed "territorial and political rearrangements" in the areas of these countries. Subsequently all the mentioned countries were invaded, occupied or forced to cede part of their territory to either the Soviet Union, Germany, or both.

Yup, but i was talking about soldiers. Russian... sorry.. Soviet people didn't sign any pacts. I guess they didn't even know about it then.

Anyway, this topic is for Putin. He looks very irritable lately... Time to go!!

nazis WERE a bit worse than Soviets, i think.

Here i have another point of view - communist regime was much worse than nazi regime. Communists just killed/imprisoned anyone why seemed to be a threat to the system (and when there was none, they invented the charges. It was all plan-based - for every month there was a quota to be filled - how many people must be shot or imprisoned. So for example - they went to arrest one guy, but they also had to fill the quota, so they took the whole family and families from neighboring apartments - job well done).

Why are germans always depicted as the worst criminals? They lost the war - simple as that. All crimes done by the victorious allies were either kept in secrecy or written on Germans. For example the mass-murdering of Polish officers (over 18,000 shot) in Katyn (Germans discovered it in 1943 - but at Nuremburg trial it was written that it was the work of germans). No-one likes to talk about the allied air raids which killed over a million of civilians (in one raid in Dresden about 250,000 were killed during one raid - mostly they burned to death in their shelters). And so on. History is written by the victors.

Here you say that we should respect the soviets, because look at the losses the had in WW2. Well - kinda hard to do, because in peacetime the regime killed much more than that - just one example - the engineered famine in Ukraine in 1930's - over 5 million ukrainians died of hunger.

WE SHOULD NOT RESPECT THE SOVIETS! I'm talking about the soviet people in the WW2. What soviet goverment did to its people before and after the war is another story. In that war the nazis were the aggressors, and what they did is much worse.

Yeltsin (Jelcyn?), the guy, who crushed socialism in Russia? If you say, he is stupi, you say, that everything he done, was stupid. He made a lot o mistakes, he was drunk almost always, but he done great thing. Putin is ruling the country in a very CCCP-way. The example of Litwinienko (how to spell this name in eng?) show this. Litwinienko was against Putin, and was exterminated with Polon (sic!). It is a mafia ruling style...

Thanks him we are in NATO. Wałęsa, our President knew what Yeltsin likes to drink Laughing
Alcoholic is better than a mad person o fanatic :/

Litvinenko case is a poor example. The guy worked for KGB then for thief Berezovsky... hell knows who really killed him... Just 'cause he was "against" Putin doesn't mean he was a good guy, so... I don't think that Putin did that.
I dont want to say, Putin is bad and everyone who is against him is good. This example shows a range of methods, Putins regime uses.

That's the problem or Poland. You, Russians conquered Poland twice. Enough. Putin is clever. As I think, he wants to make Poland and other post-soc countries addicted from Russia again. With oil and gas, at least. Otherwise, why Russia is plaing with EU, with meat, i.e?

In both conquers Russia needed help ^_^, first Austria and Germany, 2nd the Nazi Germany, hah, they couldn't beat us alone when I look back at history they never could beat us all alone. 0_o, remember the Polish-Bolshevic War? Very Happy

Back to the topic...
Maybe he want's Ukraine and Belarus connected to the Federation again, and
make us weaker and dependant from Russia and get back to the old political set before 1989? The awful truth is that Poland is a bit dependant, we're depending on their fuel. I hope that not for long.

Yeah, I hope at least new fuel technology will solve this problem.

No one's trying to conquer you - Don't flatter yourselves.
You don't have to be dependent on russian fuel. You can get back to horses.
Look, Germany (our enemy in the WW2 btw) gets most of the fuel it needs from Russia, and I have never heard a german say that they depend on us. They are quite self-confident.
And sometimes it seems to me that you guys are ready to kill youselves if only it could cause some damage to Russia... What's the matter with you?

And Your ally at the begining of the War in September 1939? Wink

And my anwser:
Well, they took over control over Norway, and we all know that Norway got some nice resources they also took over other places full of gas by than, not to mention they had entrance to the Northern Sea. Poland doesn't have enough nice resources and haven't made any good deal yet with the western countries. ;(
