PostSubject: Inquiring the Baltic countries   Tue May 22, 2007 9:28 pm

Last winter we, my family, decided to travel next summer vacation to see Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania more closely. The area so near and not known to us, except Tallinn. It might be interesting to see the nature and historical tourist locations. But even more interesting is to meet people! The idea of spending holiday there arised from a lithuanian chat friend. A good attitude we have from the estonians we already know. Waiting eagerly for the vacation in July! rendeer
Any ideas what we MUST see?

Since you obviously know something about Tallinn I think you should go to our islands. Saaremaa and/or Muhumaa.
Lots and lots of beautiful untouched nature.
and why not to spend a day or two in one of the Spa's there. I recomend strongly.

My favourite places:
1) Saaremaa is awesome, especially Sõrve peninsula,
2) the marshes,
3) Nelijärve (in Aegviidu in Harjumaa) with it's lakes and Kõrvemaa (http://www.korvemaa.ee/),
4) the Southern Estonia with it's small hills, valleys and the deepest lakes in Estonia,
5) Hiiumaa (if you want to visit a good beach then Luidja in Northern Hiiumaa is definitely one of them; If you want to try horseback riding I'd recommend to do it in Kassari: http://www.kassari.ee )

Actually it's hard to name them all because there are so much of them.
And I'd suggest you not to stay in car or bus all the time because you'll miss everything Very Happy

Have a nice trip!
