PostSubject: Lech Walesa without censure :)   Fri Jun 15, 2007 6:18 pm

Kiskun asked about Lech Walesa in other thread, so this is my response.

This is long topic. Among leaders and members of Solidarity movement you would find quite a lot people that hate Walesa and are convinced that he was an communist agent. They are battling in our courts about that regularly. Walesa is suspected to be secret informer of the communist secret service, “Bolek”. The case is about two years even before Solidarity was created. The court few years ago proclaimed Walesa to be innocent. Recently Walesa himself published on his website some incomplete acts, reports of agent “Bolek”. If this is indeed proper documents, then judging by style of writing in my opinion this is not Walesa. Reports was written in logical style while Walesa is hardly logical, always chaotic and very characteristic.

However this case, like many others wont be finished for good, to convince everybody. First of all you can imagine who were the judges and where they started their carrier, so they cannot be really trusted. Secondary behavior of Walesa as a president was very strange. He blocked all initiatives which would lead with dealing with old regime. Now when the twins are in power Walesa even joined to communists (vel Social Democrats) and established a movement to defend Polish democracy Wink Many people will never forgive him these stances. Thirdly Walesa as a president loan his bookcase from our archives. He returned it, empty or incomplete (I’m not sure)

Personally I don’t like him as well, doesn’t even matter whether he was agent or not. His stances and general behavior disqualified him in my eyes. He belongs to one of these people who are quite stupid but they think that they know everything. Walesa is a buffoon who never admits that he could be wrong, always blames somebody. He always speaks much, much of BS I would say Smile

I think that he was only a marionette in hands of commies. They could easily control him and safely switch to semi-democracy and so on. Currently Walesa is in strong opposition to Kaczynski brothers (PiS party). When Walesa won presidential election, one Kaczynski was a chief of his administration. Duo to his anti-communist stand in opposition to Walesa, he was quickly fired from this post.

PiS party continuing tradition of PC party from early 90-ties. This party is ruled by Kaczynski brothers, they have deciding voice and Jaroslaw (PM) is considered to be “the brain”. Party members have roots in Solidarity movement. PiS consist from two main options. The first one are Kaczynski’s people, former members of above mentioned PC party. I would describe them as quite conservative, tradition respecting, anti-communist, socialist and bureaucracy loving. They keep the most important posts in the country.

Second fraction consist from Catholic minded conservatives. They are also anti-communist, socialist and bureaucracy loving. Many of them come from old Christian Democratic ZCHN party. They have lesser influence on state affairs thus many of them are disappointed. Recently even four or five MPs left the party.

In government Kaczynski have also some economical liberals. Unfortunately they are not allowed to really reform this country.

Ahaa!
But then, you don't have an old-commie - liberal coalition at present.

There was so many corruption affairs during the last cadency of the left wing government that they will need to struggle very hard to won elections in near future. Their electorate decreased dramatically, only about 13-15% of so called “red beton” left. Their only chance is political comeback of our former president Kwasniewski who is unfortunately quite popular. But even with him they will struggle. I’m only afraid that oppositional center-right party PO will take them as a junior partner to coalition if they fail to agree with PiS. Their leaders really don’t like each other.
