PostSubject: Romanian Delegates Protest CIA Prisons Report   Thu Jun 28, 2007 9:01 pm

Quote :
Romanian delegates on Thursday suspended their activities at the Council of Europe's parliamentary assembly to protest against accusations that Bucharest had hosted secret CIA prisons.

This is exactly Romania that I wish to see in the EU. cheers

Quote :

Marty based his report on interviews with more than 30 European and U.S. intelligence officials but Poland and Romania dismissed his conclusions because none of his sources was named.

The Swiss investigator has defended the use of anonymous witnesses, saying his sources needed to be protected because they would face charges of high treason in their countries if their identity was revealed.

From my point of view, this is win/win situation. If charges are justified all the blame on our former commie-left government. On other hand I cannot allow anybody to accuse my country of anything without providing even a single proof of our guilt. Anonymous witnesses and secret evidence, this is how Soviet justice worked. Seems to me that Mr. Marty is healing his anti-American complexes on our cost.

Well, Gypsies are hardly successful in any country and they have a lot of them in Romania. How about Hungarian-Romanian relations?

Well gipsies are another problem. I once read a long article and gipsies live the best in Hungary...well their ass is licked out by the state, that is for sure.

Hungarian-Romanian relations are very bad. They seem to get better a bit, but it still doesn't change on the thing, that Romanians still sh*t in the human and minority rights of Hungarians. Last year a professor was fired of the Kolozsvár (Cluj Napoca) university, because he wrote out some exam results in Hungarian for his Hungarian students. Romania has stonge-age citizens and laws. Of course Bruxelles hardly cares about their citizens, if they don't live in Western Europe. Razz

Political correctness… It remind me an old Polish homeless drunkard in Paris that I recently saw in our TV. He don’t want to work or back to Poland, because French suckers give him some social rent for nothing Razz Socialism lol!

To be fired is indeed and exaggeration, he should be lectured that Romanian version also should be published if he really wants Hungarian. This is also stupid but Romanian student would complain otherwise. I think that if this is not strictly Hungarian language school, it would be easier to everybody to do it in Romanian only. This is not big deal after all.

Brussels cares about one social group called bureaucrats. You need to find some reasonable consensus for your own, only such solution will solve the problem once and for all. Brussels regulation could only conserve animosities.

He had only Hungarian students. And you know, this is the only University in Romania, where it is possible to learn in Hungarian, though there are 1,8 million Hungarians living in Erdély.

If he teach in Hungarian language then indeed this is weird. This is unofficial list after all.

According to public polls, what is the usual ranking of favorite neighbors of Hungary? You border with quite many countries.

It is a really good question Rzeczpospolita. I haven't heard about surveys like that. And we must rather choose the one who "hates us the least" actually. Smile I think it is Austria.

This is funny, I remember one Czech survey on this issue. The results were like below.

1. Slovakia
2. Poland
.
.
.
3.Germany
4.Austria

Do you Hungarians have big issue with the Serbs over Vojvodina?

I like that you care with other nations Rzeczpospolita Smile
Actually, that topic was hot in the 1990's, but nowadays it seems that Hungarians already accepted that we cannot do anything about it. At least it seems so, that the Hungarian-bitings stopped. In our case it is already a success pale
Unfortunately serbs are already in majority in Vajdaság, so it is sure that Hungarians wouldn't have any special treatment there in the future. Moreover I heard that Serbs are planning to move from Kosovo to Vajdaság, and the balance which had already been made would now break Neutral

hmm.. This is rather the US and the UE, knowing the Serbs they will try to keep Kosovo by all means.

Ok, but I cannot figure out anything about what could Hungarians have against Croats and Slovenians. Maybe there is something that I'm not aware? You tried to win EURO 2012 together with Croatia.

Very Happy Actually we would be in peace with all the nations, just they hate us so much.
With Slovenia our relation isn't bad, but as they have a small significancy, we cannot call them as good friends. Croatia would be okay, but in the 1990's the Hungarian minorities had problems there too as far as I know, maybe this memory spreads the good-terms with them in people's mind. But this common try for the 2012 Football Echamp. was quite good.

Just as I thought, territorial changes are indeed needed, or atleast political attention with the minorities issue in Roumania and Serbia. It reminds me a bit of Polish living in Ukraine, Belarus perhaps in Lithuania too, I hear that their rights are beign often broken, beign discriminated, especially in Belarus, they (Lukaschenko's reign) are even creating propaganda's of history like when we controled these regions we ''opressed'' Belorussians for some various reasons, or in Ukraine, attempts of erasing as much signs of Polish presence and culture in our old lands as much as possible in a excuse of ''repairs'', so called friends. I don't see any signs of the intrest of our government on that, there was none before that one too. It makes me sick. Crying or Very sad

Yeah Neutral
Though here the right side tried to care with our ones living abroad, once there was almost a law which guaranteed the Hungarian citizenship to the ethnic Hungarians abroad, but the left side didn't even want to hear about such an idea.

What exactly you think our government should do?

I read that Lithuanians allowed recently write Polish surnames in original Polish version.
